Senior Consultant, Experience Design - Boston, New York and San Francisco Offices
Overall Accountability and Job Summary
The Senior Consultant on the Interactive team demonstrates high competence in one or more of our Interactive areas of expertise (usability, information architecture, interface development, multimedia, scripting technologies, taxonomy/content management and human factors). They support the evolution of Interactive processes and standards at Molecular. They establish alliances across disciplines to facilitate innovation and design excellence. The Sr. Consultant effectively communicates, educates and evolves the value proposition of Interactive and our broader Experience Design approach internally and externally. They possess a continuous understanding and research of the current trends (titles, tools, methodologies, deliverables, etc.) within the field of Interactive and/or practice focus areas. Target, builds, and nurtures strategic alliances within the Experience Design community .
Consulting / Client Leadership:
- Extremely competent in external consulting skills and techniques, serving as a trusted expert to clients.
- Ability to develop and sustain strong client relationships and the senior -executive levels.
- Communicates the capabilities and value of our services.
- Uses skill in questioning, interviewing, and strategic planning to define the client(s) business need and to sell in recommended solution.
- Supports business development activities.
- Supports strategy engagements.
- Independently follows Molecular Model and can adapt the model to meet specific client needs.
Molecular Leadership / Staff Management:
- Directly supervises 4-6 staff within discipline.
- Trains, coaches, and develops direct reports to continuously add value to clients and Molecular.
- Provides both informal on-going performance feedback and conducts formal reviews for all staff managed.
- Motivates others to achieve top performance.
- Solicits feedback on staff performance from other team members.
- Provides career path guidance and supports staff career decisions/continued learning.
- Sets high and clear expectations.
- Participates in compensation decision-making.
- Recognizes high performing staff.
- Works with under-performing staff to positively alter and improve performance.
- Advocates for staff needs to Molecular leadership.
- Identifies, interviews, and recruits top level talent.
