Simon Mathews, Director of Strategy

Based in San Francisco, Simon came to Molecular through its acquisition of Ion Global where he has worked since 2000 leading the Internet Strategy Consulting group, focusing on helping global firms with their global internet strategies.

Having lived and worked on four continents and visited more than 55 countries Simon is a true global expert – his prime focus for Molecular is on identifying, solving and managing web globalization strategy issues for clients. This focus encompasses strategic business decisions, organization alignment and process design as well the myriad of cultural and technical issues facing global companies. 

Simon has worked with a number of clients on their globalization and strategy needs including AIG, Seagate, WL Gore & Associates, Caterpillar, McAfee and Emirates Airlines.

Before joining Molecular, Simon led the development of Ogilvy Public Relations Worlwide’s Technology & Internet practice, first in Hong Kong and Asia, and then as global practice leader based in San Francisco. While building Ogilvy PR’s technology practice he advised some of the world's leading technology and internet brands – including Dell, Yahoo!, 3Com, IBM, Nokia, Palm Computing, Lotus and Gateway - as well as more than fifty start-up internet companies, and a number of leading Asian consumer brands. Before moving to Asia, Simon worked for a range of London technology-marketing firms, working on both UK and European wide assignments. He holds an engineering degree.
