As a leading provider of accredited continuing medical education (CME) for
physicians, Pri-Med provides educational opportunities to doctors via live
meetings, print programs, and their web site–www.pri-med.com. While Pri-
Med offers plenty of choices, it became clear—physicians wanted more.
They wanted access to a broad range of practical, high-quality CME online.
But how could Pri-Med leverage their site to meet the growing demand?
Time to Call in the Specialists
Pri-Med enlisted Molecular to develop a strategic plan for the evolution
of pri-med.com. The goal was three-fold: establish the site as the leading
online educational source for physicians; help physicians design their
own personalized learning experiences; and provide physicians with the
continuous knowledge they need to ensure the quality of patient care.
Molecular's Prescription Molecular’s strategy experts got to work, reviewing the company’s
business goals and conducting the in-depth customer research needed
to craft a short- and long-term Web strategy roadmap. Guided by this
roadmap, the Experience Design team set out to create a bold new online
experience and a more compelling visual design. They boosted performance
and functionality levels; developed a cleaner, more streamlined
design; and added interactive features that allow physicians to search for
and find the information they need—quickly, easily, and accurately. And,
because personalization was key, the team added advanced features that
allow physicians to better track, manage and save their CME information.
Then came the big question: How would Pri-Med support the new site? Molecular guided the company in this area by assessing content management vendors; implementing a new content management system; and ultimately helping Pri-Med migrate to a newer, more flexible platform.
A Healthy Outcome Molecular’s course of treatment proved highly effective for Pri-Med. The
site redesign has given the company a clear point of differentiation, not to
mention a real boost to its bottom line. To date, the site has helped generate
a 67% increase in the number of active users and a 20% increase in total
number of accounts, as well as a high rate of physicians claiming credit
upon successful completion of CME at 76%.
