Monster wanted to improve the overall experience on their web site, beginning with a redesign of their homepage to reflect their upcoming “Monster Works for Me” advertising campaign and deliver a richer, more compelling experience with fewer decision points. Goals included increasing page views and visitors, job searches, account creations and resume postings.
Approach
Based on information from stakeholder interviews, in-depth customer research and a brand discovery workshop, Molecular developed a new user experience for the monster.com homepage and an improved creative solution that expresses Monster’s brand personality through visual style and photography. The streamlined interface quickly guides visitors to the content they need to accomplish their goals, while simultaneously shifting the perception of Monster.com from a transactional to consultative site by uncovering the breadth of content and sense of community within the site. The highly interactive and engaging home page enables visitors to easily connect with others in online discussions and share their comments about careers, creating a sense of community not found on any other career-related site.
Molecular also played a key role in redesign of Monster’s employer web site, located at http://hiring.monster.com/. Like the Monster.com homepage, the new employer site improves the online look and user experience and increases online results such as job postings, resume searches and job posting purchases.
Benefits
Post launch, Molecular worked with Monster to make continuous improvements to the home page. A/B testing has shown each iteration to consistently outperform the previous version in terms of key performance indicators:
First iteration:
- Page views per visitor increased over 7%
- Job views/visits increased over 6%
- Resumes posted increased over 18%
- Accounts opened increased over 22%
Second iteration:
- Resumes posted increased over 9%
- Accounts opened increased 16%
