Molecular’s Riccardo LaRosa and Steve Mulder to lead January’s Workshop:

Web 2.0 – What Is It and What Does It Mean?
Wednesday, January 10, 2007, 8:15-11:15 a.m.
Babson College, Olin Hall

The term Web 2.0 has come onto the IT scene over the past few years. Simply stated, it refers to Web-based applications that are made to look like desktop applications, or a new generation of software to take advantage of Ajax. This session will address the definitions and technologies involved in this new wave of Web applications.

The Web has always been about people, but in a Web 2.0 world this is taking on a whole new meaning. Riccardo La Rosa, Principal Consultant, Engineering, and Steve Mulder, Principal Consultant, User Experience, at Molecular, will share how giving users more control and influence over one’s site unveils a new set of opportunities and challenges. How are user ratings and reviews, tagging, editorial control, user-generated content, and social networking changing the way you think about your site? How are sites dealing with negative user contributions, and what does all this mean when designing and building your site?
