AMA New York City Chapter Meeting to be held February 6 at the AMA Offices in Manhattan
Each month the New York City chapter of the American Marketing Association hosts an intimate educational event for its members where presenters from renowned firms around the country come to present their experiences and expertise in the world of marketing.
Molecular's Raphael Chun, Principal Consultant, Experience Design, and Anne Lac, Senior Consultant, Experience Design, will be leading the session, “Web 2.0 – What Is It and What Does It Mean?”
The term Web 2.0 has come onto the IT scene over the past few years. Simply stated, it refers to Web-based applications that are made to look like desktop applications, or a new generation of software to take advantage of Ajax. This session will address the definitions and technologies involved in this new wave of Web applications. The Web has always been about people, but in a Web 2.0 world this is taking on a whole new meaning. Anne Lac and Raphael Chun of Molecular, will share how giving users more control and influence over one’s site unveils a new set of opportunities and challenges. How are user ratings and reviews, tagging, editorial control, user-generated content, and social networking changing the way you think about your site? How are sites dealing with negative user contributions, and what does all this mean when designing and building your site?
